On September 18, 2025, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Renfrew Detachment conducted a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) initiative in the Township of Admaston/Bromley, a community known for its stunning landscapes and tight-knit population. During this initiative, at approximately 1:20 p.m., officers approached a vehicle operated by 42-year-old Daniel Crabtree, a resident of Renfrew. Upon investigation, it was revealed that Crabtree was operating the vehicle while prohibited from doing so, leading to his immediate arrest.

The OPP’s commitment to reducing impaired driving is crucial, especially in rural areas like Renfrew County, where the consequences of impaired driving can be particularly severe due to long stretches of roadway and less immediate access to emergency services.
