Serious Motorcycle Collision on Highway 24 in Brant County Sends Rider to Hospital

On the evening of September 22, 2025, a serious motorcycle collision took place at the intersection of Highway 24 and Colborne Street West in Brant County, Ontario, raising concerns over road safety and the implications of driving infractions.

At approximately 9:04 p.m., emergency services quickly responded to the scene, where a motorcycle and another vehicle collided. Witness reports indicate that the force of the collision sent the motorcycle’s rider airborne, landing approximately 20 feet away before coming to rest on the roadway.

The rider, a 41-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital with injuries that, fortunately, are not believed to be life-threatening. However, what complicates the situation is the rider’s history; he had previously been disqualified from driving on three separate occasions and was caught operating a stolen motorcycle at the time of this incident.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have confirmed that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision. Nonetheless, the rider faces significant legal repercussions. He has been charged with multiple offenses, including:

  • Operation While Prohibited (four counts)

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Over $5,000

As authorities continue their investigation, the southbound lanes of Highway 24 remained open while the northbound lanes were closed for cleanup and inquiry purposes.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and adherence to driving regulations. The OPP is urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has relevant information to come forward. Such community involvement can be crucial in ensuring accountability and promoting safer roads for all.

The ongoing investigation highlights the need for greater awareness regarding the risks associated with driving infractions, as well as the implications of operating a vehicle without proper authorization. As Canadians, we must prioritize safety on our roads to prevent such unfortunate incidents from occurring in the future.
