Tragic Collision in Centralia Claims Life of 36-Year-Old, Leaves Another Seriously Injured
In a heartbreaking incident early Saturday morning, September 20, 2025, a serious motor vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of London Road and Huron Park Road in Centralia, Ontario, resulting in the tragic death of a 36-year-old man from Ayr. The collision involved a tractor-trailer and a passenger van, highlighting the dangers that can arise on our roadways.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Huron County detachment received reports of the collision at approximately 5:30 a.m. Upon arrival, first responders found the passenger van severely damaged. Unfortunately, the driver, identified as a 36-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene, a stark reminder of the fragility of life on the road.
Another passenger in the van, a 31-year-old man from Goderich, sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a trauma centre for immediate medical attention. The community’s thoughts are with the families affected by this tragic incident, as they navigate through this difficult time.
In response to the collision, the OPP closed the intersection of London Road and Huron Park Road to conduct their investigation. The Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team is assisting with the inquiry, which will examine the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event. Thankfully, the intersection has since reopened, and normal traffic flow has resumed.
